Why is there a layer of oil on top of the sugar scrub?
The natural oil blend maintains the texture of the product. Always mix the product prior to use, this will assure the product does not dry out and remains easy to apply.
Why is glycerin added to all formulations of sugar scrub?
Glycerin is an emollient that enhances moisture; this contributes to lasting softness of the skin.
Why are the sugar scrubs categorized as ‘gentle’ vs ‘intense’?
We recognize that our customers needs and preferences are different. Gentle scrubs contain a refined sugar blend that provides a cream-like consistency and less aggressive exfoliation. Intense scrubs contain a less refined sugar blend and other coarse ingredients such as coffee and ground vanilla beans; these ingredients ramp up the level of exfoliation.
How often should I use the sugar scrub?
Your skin is delicate. Exfoliation is not recommended more than twice a week. Never use this product on broken, irritated, or sunburned skin.
My skin is soft and smooth after using the sugar scrub, do I need to apply lotion?
Application of a Forrest Lane Shea Body Butter will seal in the renewed moisture.
Why is the Shea Body Butter not smooth like lotion?
Unrefined shea butter is rich and solid at room temperature. However, body heat warms and melts the butter. For easy application, place a small amount in the palm of your hand and rub hands together to warm and soften the butter before application.
